Speaker: Ray Leisy
Leisy is a numismatic historian, and enjoys studing currency, including coins, tokens or paper money. He will discuss his study of merchant tokens, which were issued in Wayne County during the Civil War. Otis & Tanner, of Dalton, was one of 17 Wayne County businesses which offered these tokens. Guests are welcome to bring in their old coins or tokens to share as well. Leisy is project manager for Sonnenberg Village outside of Kidron, and has organized Voices from the Past programs at Wayne County Historical Society of more than 25 years. He retired after two elected terms as Wayne County juvenile and probate judge.
